HellllooOooOoooooooOOOooo there!
Thank you for dropping by!
I am NomNomenon, and welcome to my personal pizza slice of the world. This is where I share my love of learning about science, design and culture through the world of food and cooking.
You could say that:
“I am not a glutton. I am an explorer of food.”
(The quote is Erma Bombeck; I don’t know who she is, but I like the quote so I’m using it!)
I travel the world and scour the world (wide web) to learn new knowledge. I love making connections between science, design and culture using food and cooking. And I love to share what I have discovered — you can see all of it in the archive: 194 short posts, each linking something you eat with a bit of science, history, language, art, or culture. They are short and simple on purpose, so that as many people as possible can share in the thrill of exploration.
So whether you are a busy educator, student, parent, a foodie, or simply someone with lots and lots of curiosity, you will discover new knowledge — and the unexpected connections hiding in your kitchen.
The new kitchen
NomNomenon began on WordPress in 2012. In 2026 it moved into this new kitchen: the same 194 posts at the same addresses, now faster and lighter — plus something brand new. The Phenomenon Engine lets you pick any food and any idea, and cooks up a fresh nom-nomenon in the house style. The puns remain lovingly hand-approved.
Nom Appetit!
